‘Let’s Get Cooking’ Course a delightful success!

Staff and volunteers from 7 local schools, Braintree District Council and Greenfields Community Housing learnt how to run healthy cooking clubs for children in the district.

The Mid Essex Exercise Referral Scheme is a partnership between Braintree District Council, health professionals,Provide, NHS Health and Fusion Lifestyle.

The discounted 12 week program is designed to guide and support individuals who want to increase activity levels. Participants will take part in a 12 week personalised exercise program, overseen by qualified Exercise Referral exercise specialists. The aim is to prevent and manage long term illness or injury and improve health.

£250 million investment to tackle inactivity

Active Essex has welcomed plans for a £250 million investment to address inactivity as outlined in Sport England’s Towards an Active Nation strategy.

The strategy supports recent discussions held at an Active Essex political member’s event where Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Rt Hon John Whittingdale MP, spoke of the need for collaborative working across all levels of local Government in order to address inactivity in Greater Essex.
