Women time

  • Learn to Ride: Do you want to learn how to ride a bike in fun and sociable environment for ladies only? If so, why not give Women time a go? The sessions, running until June are designed to give you the confidence and to try cycling, whether you’ve not ridden a bike for years or have never ridden a bike.
  • Cycling- led cycle rides: Do you want to go for a bike ride in a fun and sociable environment for like-minded ladies? If so, there are a number of sessions for you designed to use existing riding skill or new skills learnt, but give you the confidence on and off road. Find out when and where they are taking place.
Colchester cycling
  • Happy Handlebars is a project to encourage everyone in Essex to discover the pleasure of cycling. In partnership with en-form (Colchester’s environmental information centre) we host a vast selection of cycle rides, groups and activities for people of all ages.Visit their website for more information

  • There are four friendly bike kitchens in Essex (Colchester, Jaywich, Wivenhoe and Clacton)where you can get help look after your bike, from regular bike checks to getting assistance with simple repairs.

  • Cycle Colchester -its website seeks to keep the community up to date with what is happening locally to promote and support cycling, whether you are a beginner, looking to cycle more, or into the sporty/competitive side of cycling.
  • Bike and Go is a flexible bike hire scheme which is available from 70 participating train stations across the UK including Clacton-on-Sea and Colchester train stations . Whether you’re visiting friends, commuting to work or you fancy a day out.

Epping cycling for health programme
  • The Cycling for Health programme is a series of weekly led rides in the Epping Forest and Lee Valley organised by Epping Forest District Council Community Services.  All the Cycling for Health routes are generally traffic free as we use bridleways or walking paths. The rides are approximately two hours long and we cover a distance of between 6 to 10 miles.
