Spring into Easter at Barleylands: from 6th to 22nd April. Meet their cute new arrivals and tuck into some chocolatey treats!

Sky Ropes at Great Notley Country Park –  Feel the thrill and reach unforgettable heights with family and friends.

Cressing Temple– Junior astronomy club 9th April: Discover the delights of the night sky with the North Essex Astronomical Society! Young budding astronomists can learn how to use telescopes, discover planets, stars and constellations and other great activities.

Marks Hall Arboretum Easter trail 6th April– They have a huge display of Spring colours found in an array of shrubs and trees.

Essex Young People’s Orchestra are performing a FREE concert on 11th April at Braintree Arts Theatre. If you like Schubert then this is egg-actly the right event for you!

Cressing Temple chocolate festival– 19th April -The Cressing Chocolate Festival promises to have something for all chocolate lovers with a great range of stalls. For the serious chocolate enthusiast there will be Artisan stalls, workshops and talks on the history of chocolate. Whilst children will have the chance to sign-up for workshops as well as complete a chocolate trail

Brentwood Borough

Friday Night Takeover at Brentwood Leisure Centre: Every Friday night 12- 16 years olds are inviting to come to the Brentwood Centre and enjoy a whole host of activities including mixed martial arts, team yoga, street dance, swimming and more.

Easter themed trail at Wat Tyler Country Park from 8th April 11am to 1pm.

Try the high ropes and adventure Rope runners at the secret nuclear bunker in Kelvedon Hatch: they are adrenaline- filled activities on new courses for anyone over 6 years old.

Colchester Borough

Relaxed opening at Colchester Castle on Sunday 7th April– Enjoy a little calm at the Castle and join us on the first Sunday of the month for a Relaxed Opening. These sessions are suitable for visitors with ASD, providing an opportunity for them to explore the museum at a quieter time.

Easter Egg Hunt at Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve-Drop in to take part in an  Easter eggstravaganza from 8-22 April.

Thomas The Tank Engine at the East Anglian Railway Museum– Bust my buffers! Enjoy an Easter treat as Thomas the Tank Engine pulls into Chappel Station for an Easter of family fun from the 9-11 April.

Bottle Feeding Lambs at Layer Marney Tower Explore this magnificent building and take part in the ultimate Spring family event, bottle feeding the newborn lambs. Climb the famous Tower, take part in a free Easter Quiz and finish up in the tearoom!

High Woods Country park family fun:

  • Easter Egg Rolling on 17th April from 10am-12pm- Suitable for ages 5+, children can enjoy Easter-themed games, creating their own Easter egg and obstacle course, and racing their egg downhill. The activity costs £4.40 per child.
  • Self-guided Easter Trail from 20th to 22nd April everyone can enjoy. Simply drop-in to the Visitor Centre anytime between 11am and 3pm and pick up a map for £1 and follow the fun Easter trail around the park – there may even be a sweet treat at the end!
  • Fishing for Beginners event on 28th April –  This practical course will teach beginners the basics of water safety, equipment, bait types and fish species, and is suitable for adults and children ages 7+. Booking for this event is essential and costs £6 per person. Equipment can be borrowed, if requested in advance.

Leisure World kids’ camps- Monday 8 April – Friday 19 April, 9am-3pm or 8am-5.30pm

Kids’ base camps -A full day of action-packed supervised activities for children in school years 7-11.  Ideal for working parents. Activities include fun in the Leisure Pool, trips to Escape Room and Tenpin, multi sports, trampolining and our inflatable obstacle course in the Fitness Pool.

Kids’ camps– A full day of action-packed supervised activities for children in school years 1-6, which includes swimming as a core part of the day’s activities. Ideal for working parents.

Chelmsford City

Half day and full day city camps throughout the school holidays for children between aged between 4 and 12 at Riverside Leisure Centre, South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre and Dovedale Sports Centre.

Active Fun sessions during the school holidays, giving children the chance to learn new skills and get active in a fun environment.

Premiership Football camps and Camp Wild kids camp at KEGS School Chelmsford. Two weeks from Tuesday 8 April – Thursday 18th April. 8:30am to 17:30pm.

School of Golf preschool classes this April aimed at parents and juniors– pre-school classes aimed at children (aged 3-5) and parents who would like to learn a new activity together, in a friendly welcoming environment.

Lambourne End adventure academy– 15th to 18th April- A jam-packed programme of farm and adventurous activities throughout the school holidays.

Adventure and farm open day 7th April 11am to 4pm at Lambourne End– a great opportunity for families to spend time together on the farm, try their hands at a range of different activities and have a great day in the countryside raising money for their charity at the same time.

Harlow District

Felsted School multi-sports camp
Keep fit and make friends on this fun multi-sports camp which includes a full range of different sports including football, tennis, rounders and volleyball.
