What are the Sport for Confidence activities?
The activities are run by healthcare professionals within leisure centres, who work alongside coaches, leisure staff and external clubs to provide sessions to people who face barriers to participation.
The sessions are open to anyone, they are attended by people who have a learning disability, mental health issues or physical disabilities. The groups are specifically adapted to cater for a wide range of needs.
Where do the sessions run?
Sport for Confidence currently runs across 4 different sites in Essex. They roughly encounter 250 participants attending per week across 30 different activities. Sport for Confidence continues to grow, with the ultimate aim of having an health professional in every leisure facility in the country.
