Dancing with Parkinsons

Sep 11 2019 - Dec 11 2019

2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

The Dance Network Association’s Dancing for Parkinson’s programme offers monthly sessions to those with Parkinson’s and their partners, friends and carers. The classes specifically target areas of need such as loosening of the muscles, massage, lengthening of the spine, use of voice whilst also giving a heightened sense of self-confidence.

Their classes take place in unusual locations such as Colchester Castle Museum in order for us to draw upon local history as a stimulus for movement, of which begin seated then progress into a journey around the space. To close the session, a social time is offered along with tea and coffee, allowing peer support and interaction to take place.
